The January transfer window is always a period of feverish rumour and possible major moves. Several prominent stars find themselves linked with moves out of their present teams. We examine some of the major figures who are poised to be on the move this month.

Antoine Semenyo

Despite the Black Stars' inability to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations, this has left the player in contention, indications are a major move is imminent. The Bournemouth attacker has a deal with a £65 million buy-out clause active for a two-week window at the start of the month. Recent developments indicate Manchester City have emerged as his signature. Former interested parties such as Chelsea and Tottenham are said to have turned their attention to other options, potentially opening the door for teams like Liverpool or Manchester United to attempt a last-minute move.

M. Guéhi

The English defender has excel for Crystal Palace this season a previous transfer to Anfield falling through. As his deal due to run out in the summer, this represents the London club's final opportunity to obtain a transfer fee for their captain. Furthermore, there have been suggestions from Spain that he is prepared to take a reduced salary for a switch to Real Madrid.

Marc-André ter Stegen

This veteran German goalkeeper is now as the third option at Barça following the coach Flick. Having lost his place and undergone an operation, a January departure looks increasingly likely. Villa were once mentioned as a potential suitor, but that option now appears off. Instead, interest from Turkey and Saudi Arabia are reportedly expressing interest in the keeper.

Ivan Toney

The prolific English striker has kept scoring frequently in Saudi Arabia. A return to the Premier League might enhance his fading hopes of making the national squad. Kenan Yildiz

This exciting Turkish forward has been in excellent form for the Italian giants this term. With his existing deal nearing its end, many English sides – including Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Tottenham – are monitoring the developments. Juventus are eager to tie down the 20-year-old to a new long-term contract but are in a battle to keep one of Europe's most promising young talents.

Kees Smit

The highly-touted Netherlands teenage midfielder has earned comparisons to a Belgian superstar for his style of play. After starring at the U19 Euros, he has become a regular in the AZ side. The 19-year-old is widely tipped to make a major move in January. Newcastle United are believed to be leading the chase, but could face stiff rivalry from the Spanish champions for a deal valued at around twenty-two million pounds.
