Emergency response teams responded to nearly 600 requests for assistance across the region, mainly for structural issues but also for fallen timber and flooding.

Damp conditions were expected to linger along much of eastern Queensland this week as a atmospheric system continued to attract humidity against the coast.
The following day was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing severe weather risk predicted across different parts of both states.
